Position Summary
We are currently seeking a site-based Maintenance Planner to join our maintenance team at the Foxleigh coal project, located near Middlemount in the Bowen Basin. This is a five year contract which encompasses the provision of mobile plant & maintenance services, including the maintenance of client owned equipment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the position is responsible for coordinating the logistical issues, allocating resources and understanding the priorities of the mobile maintenance execution plans.
Key duties/responsibilities include:
Identify scope, work steps, resources and equipment required to achieve planned jobs
Create new work orders inclusive of scope of works, required parts and tooling, labour resources and supporting documents
Create the maintenance short term plans and ensure it is communicated to the relevant persons to be incorporated into the mine’s short term plans
Develop a weekly schedule for each crew based on job priorities and plans
Allocate resources to weekly schedules
Ensure schedules accommodate for emergencies and reactive high priority jobs
Support the maintenance team each week with breakdown work orders and the resources required – update the weekly schedule accordingly
Maintain workshop records, equipment records and registers in according with Macmahon business practices
Review the effectiveness of the maintenance system and identify areas for improvement
To be successful in this position you must have:
3-5 years' relevant experience in mining or maintenance
Comprehensive understanding of maintenance schedules in the mining industry
Demonstrated experience with various CMM systems
Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (preferable)
Trade qualification or direct experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance (preferable)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a team environment
