A rare opportunity exists for a professional Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our Health, Safety and Security team. You will utilise your skills and positive work ethic to provide technical support to the Occupational Hygiene function at a site level. 

You will apply standards and procedures and manage equipment and systems required for the ongoing maintenance of site Occupational Hygiene programs. You will ensure our systems and procedures support the operational needs of our department.

In This Role You Will

With support and direction from the Occupational Hygiene Advisor:-

Conduct Occupational Hygiene surveys on hazardous materials/agents

Maintain accurate job/SEG information in Cority to support the Occupational Hygiene Advisor in maintaining site Health Risk Assessments

Complete site Occupational Hygiene exposure and water monitoring to required regulatory and internal standards

Effectively plan and execute site exposure/water monitoring activities to meet the annual site sample plan and any regulatory sampling schedules

Maintain a serviceable and compliant fleet of sampling/monitoring equipment in accordance with required standards

Conduct and participate in training for Occupational Hygiene processes

Maintain accurate records and reports utilising data management systems such as Cority and ChemAlert

Prepare and submit all assigned internal and regulatory reporting in a timely manner, including site, regional and regulatory reporting

Review and process requests for new chemicals

Assist the team in the effective implementation of the respiratory and hearing protection programs for site

Participate in investigations as required

Fulfil regulatory responsibilities of Surface Ventilation Technician

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene or Health and Safety is preferred (minimum requirement to have completed the AIOH Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene course)

Significant experience in an Occupational Hygiene, HS Systems or similar role

Certificate III in Surface Ventilation Technician or ability to obtain

Registered Noise Officer or ability to obtain

Exposure to working in a heavy industrial/mining environment

Associate membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists or ability to obtain, with a provisional membership preferred

Awareness of applicable industry standards and legislation applicable to the role

Excellent report writing skills and a high attention to detail

Proficient use of MS Office software

We are only 130kms from the Perth CBD and approximately 100kms from the coast.

Live locally and go home every single day or stay in our Village for your roster and DIDO.

On this 5:2, 4:3 roster you will have every second Friday off as well as public holidays – a good work/life balance.
