We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager at the stunning location of the Dampier Port. The role is demanding, but rewarding with a well-established and motivated team with a high performance culture.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role will provide leadership to the site teams to effectively manage the spillage, bulk earthworks and civil scopes on the client’s facilities.  The successful candidate will be required to forge and sustain strong relationships with the client and key personnel to deliver safe outcomes for a multi-discipline site.

This role will be residential to Karratha or commence as FIFO with relocation in the New Year with an attractive living allowance, incentive plan and a 4x4 mines spec’d vehicle.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Anticipate and proactively resolve potential problems to ensure a Zero Harm environment;

Provide strong safety leadership, ensuring safety objectives are understood and achieved by the operational team;

Propose and identify investments in technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations both internally and for our client;

Report on time, cost and performance against agreed project plans;

Lead teams to develop project plans and schedules using technically sound planning techniques;

Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships;

Prioritise between improvement initiatives across the projects, assigning resources to ensure successful outcomes;

Ensure that clear expectations of performance are given and systems exist to foster high achieving operational teams;

Benchmark the performance of project scopes against previous performances to ensure gaps are closed, ensuring leadership in performance is understood by superintendents and supervisors;

Ensure efficient and safe production is maintained at all times;

Foster a collaborative team environment enabling team members to do their best work;

Have a sound understanding of commercial agreements;

Ability to create, sustain and challenge a positive culture.  

The successful candidate will have:

7+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in mining or similar environments;

Formal qualification in engineering, project management, construction or a similar field;

A high degree of financial acumen, P&L preparation and review, invoice management

Quoting experience ad estimation build ups;

A competent understanding of mining and civil methods, with experience in operational productivity improvement;

High level of verbal and written skills;

Developed leadership and negotiation skills, to empower the operational team towards the objectives of the project;

High attention to detail and error proofing;

Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders from various backgrounds.
