About the Role

We are looking for a Supervisor Drilling to provide leadership to the Drilling Crew as part of the Drill and Blast team and to actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost and production.

Working an 8 days on, 6 off, 7 nights on, 7 off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Drill and Blast, you will:

Ensure all mining and drilling activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner in accordance with all relevant statutory regulations and Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) standards and policies

Drive safety leadership by participating in routine inspections of your work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work culture

Demonstrate capability in all aspects of leading a team including but not limited to; employee performance management, training and career development

Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects which including cost saving and production efficiency projects

Lead your team and drive employee engagement through the application of consistent and fair leadership and by upholding inclusive behaviours in line with the Rio Tinto values (safety, teamwork, respect, integrity, excellence)

Use site tools and resources to supervise and coordinate drill activities on site to effectively deliver against planned outputs

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

Strong leadership qualities and prior experience in leading and developing people

Demonstrated background and experience in surface drill operations,

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple work targets

Computer literacy and proficiency in the suite of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word

It will also be beneficial if you have:

WA Restricted Quarry Manager's ticket

Certificate IV or higher in Frontline Management

Certificate IV trainer/assessor and exposure to training of others

Autonomous Drilling Systems (ADS) experience

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman 4 is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities. Brockman 4 is a central hub for facilities and support services for nearby Brockman 2 and Nammuldi.
