About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our maintenance team based in Eagle Farm. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for increasing existing equipment and component reliability already in the field and helping to ensure the highest reliability of upcoming new product releases. The Reliability Engineer will act as both a leader and an individual contributor, in some cases interfacing with varied groups to influence change and in others implementing improvements. The success of the candidate will be measured based on their ability to reduce cost and improve quality monitored with standard KPI such as mean time to failure (MTTF) and mean time between failures (MTBF).

Duties

Perform root cause analysis on equipment and components that have failed in the field and drive long-term corrective actions to greatly reduce or eliminate recurrence;

Use field reliability data to identify top failure modes, ‘Targets to improve’ List and execute improvement projects to conclusion;

Conduct cost analysis on correcting reliability issues on existing and installed equipment;

Create operational reliability metrics such as mean time to failure (MTTF) and mean time between failures (MTBF);

Interface with site service technicians, distributors, and equipment dealers to understand technical challenges in the field and then work to build solutions;

Serve as the bridge between field reliability and design improvement, initiating engineering changes, and in some cases taking the lead in driving the change to completion; and

Work directly with suppliers to improve product quality.

Skills & Experience

Trade qualified and/or a qualification in reliability engineering;

Experience in mobile earthmoving equipment;

Minimum three to five years of experience in a similar role;

Experience with Microsoft applications (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project) and other reliability software;

Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified company with understanding of the ISO standard and its requirements for document and record control;

High attention to detail with a willingness to set high standards for themselves and others;

A motivated self-starter with the ability to work effectively as a team member or individually in a fast-paced environment;

An action oriented professional, dedicated to excellence and quality, and accountable for delivering assigned objectives; and

Although the roll is based in Brisbane, extensive site travel and the ability to have a flexible roster is essential.
